I look to the past for my technique and to the encaustic process for its durability, versatility and exquisite beauty. I search for a resolution between abstraction and representation, between spirituality and physicality.
The joy in the encaustic process comes from the balance in what I will cover up and what I will leave revealed. I take the painting back and forth allowing for change and an involvement in the process as opposed to having a preconceived outcome. It allows me to work quickly and intuitively.
